Queen Me is Francesca Flau's follow-up to her award winning debut novel, The Colour of Nothing, which, dogged by claims of plagiarism, caused her to go into hiding. The tale, steeped in surrealism, follows her experiences in the fantastical city of Mirorton, as she searches for her missing partner. King I details young and promising director, Huey Hutton's efforts to translate Flau's novel to the big screen, aided by his good friend and political activist Tiye Stokes and the soon-to-be star actress, Nyah Counts. The two stories come together to form a captivating whole, suffused with sharp humour and lush, detailed verbal textures.
