Prophetic Kingdom is an ongoing photographic survey exploring the everyday world: overlooked places, objects, buildings, vehicles, and signage. They are mostly vacant, emptied spaces, void of people but reeking of human presence. The photographs strive to observe, with clarity and without judgement, man's decisions over time, what was created and what is left. Further, I want the viewer to be rewarded with the subtle mysteries found in the commonplace. The title was conceived from a humble ministry I photographed in rural Delaware. Within this loose biblical framework the images give an allegorical nod towards a prophesied postlapsarian world in which great famine plagues the earth following many years of bountiful plenty. Although seemingly pseudo post-apocalyptic, the pulling power of paradise remains with hints of innocence, hope, salvation and humor. During the current global pandemic, along with the political unrest in America, these often desolate landscapes with their traces of civilization are even more eerily prophetic and relevant.--Martin Buday Martin Buday
