Prophecies and Types of Messiah: Four Lectures to Pupil Teachers is a book written by George Philip Ottey in 1879. The book is a collection of four lectures that were given to pupil teachers, which aimed to provide them with a deeper understanding of the prophecies and types of the Messiah in the Old Testament. The book begins with an introduction that explains the purpose of the lectures and the importance of understanding the prophecies and types of the Messiah. The first lecture discusses the prophecies of the Messiah in the book of Genesis, including the promise of a seed that would crush the serpent's head. The second lecture focuses on the prophecies of the Messiah in the book of Isaiah, including the prophecy of a virgin birth. The third lecture discusses the types of the Messiah in the Old Testament, including the sacrificial system and the office of the high priest. The fourth and final lecture discusses the types of the Messiah in the Psalms, including the Messianic psalms and the prophecies of the suffering Messiah.Throughout the book, Ottey provides detailed explanations of the prophecies and types of the Messiah, drawing on his extensive knowledge of the Old Testament. The book is written in a clear and accessible style, making it suitable for both scholars and laypeople interested in learning more about the prophecies and types of the Messiah in the Old Testament. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
