Princess Kaiulani: A Fictional Biography by Viola K. Rivenburgh is a historical novel that tells the story of Princess Kaiulani, the last crown princess of Hawaii. The book is a fictionalized account of her life, based on historical events and real people. The story follows Kaiulani from her childhood in Hawaii to her education in England and her return home to fight for her people's rights against American annexation. The book explores Kaiulani's personal struggles, including her mixed-race heritage and her conflicted feelings about her identity and her duty to her people. The novel also delves into the political and cultural issues of Hawaii during the late 19th century, including the overthrow of the Hawaiian monarchy and the eventual annexation by the United States. Princess Kaiulani is a compelling and engaging read that offers a unique perspective on Hawaiian history and the life of one of its most fascinating figures. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
