ome lives are not just lived, they are survived, and then surrendered to something greater.
Preserved by Jesus is the unflinching, faith-driven memoir of Starr-Trynea Qe'Whann Reeves - born in St. Louis in 1976, raised in a home shadowed by domestic abuse, and thrust into adulthood far too soon.
Starr does not spare herself in these pages. She writes honestly about a twenty-two-year battle with alcoholism, an affair that nearly ended her marriage, the heartbreak of a daughter's mental illness, a nephew's descent into crime, and the slow, devastating loss of her husband Wiley to stage-four cancer.
What makes this memoir remarkable is not only the weight of what Starr survived, but the tenderness with which she tells it, and the miraculous thread she traces through each chapter. After twenty-two years of alcoholism, her doctors found zero organ damage. Her nephew, incarcerated and facing serious charges, began sliding Bible verses under cellmates' doors. And on May 7, 2026, Starr-Trynea Qe'Whann Reeves accepted her calling and was ordained, taking up the torch her late husband carried and continuing the race he ran.
Preserved by Jesus is for everyone who has felt too broken, too far gone, or too tired to believe that God is still in the business of keeping people. This is proof that He is.
