Preparing For The Day Of Judgement is a concise classical collection of ethical and spiritual counsels attributed to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, the Companions, early Muslim scholars, ascetics, and other figures of the Islamic intellectual and devotional tradition.
Compiled by Imam Ibn Hajar al-ʿAsqalani, the work follows a distinctive numerical arrangement. Its chapters progress from Counsel in Twos through Counsel in Tens, gathering teachings whose themes are organized in groups of two, three, four, and onward. The foreword explains that each chapter begins with Prophetic traditions and is followed by sayings of the Companions and pious predecessors.
