Prelude to Cush is a new book by L. James Bolin that documents his concepts, ideas, philosophy, trials, and pains from 1984 to 2021 that were molded into a novel Cush Sovereignty. A book of short stories and poetry inspired by the author. If you see something contradictory in his writings, it'll show something he thought versus something he learned. Reading his poetry and short stories, you can probably figure out his age in the circumstances in which the material was written. These stories and poems express his emotions over the years living in a Not So Perfect World.

He placed his works in three categories: African Pride and Pain, Love and Sex, and Spirituality. African Pride and Pain expresses his emotions of racism and all the side effects that come with it. He lived most of his life in the south, so he felt compelled to write about it. Love and Sex express his feelings of love, friendship, and betrayal, and Spirituality is a collection of heartfelt emotions of the many people he has met who worshipped people, places, and things. No way is he confessing to being perfect, but he illustrates his goal to be a better person and hopes the material within these pages can be felt and understood.
