Prairie Star is an unconventional country band made up of the friends and family of its producer, Kevin Warren. After breaking up with its female lead singer, Kate, Kevin distracts himself with a new project: an abandoned country church outside of Nashville, which he begins to convert into a recording studio where he can produce the music he loves. Just as he gets started, Kevin finds himself pulled back into Prairie Star on its national tour, where he meets a shy, divorced artist living in Minneapolis. Although they are both wary, they can't help but start a romance. It is only then that Kate realizes what she has lost, and jealousy takes center stage.
