Private Investigator Marshall Cayman receives a random text asking for his help to locate a missing girl while he is driving home from working on a case on the Atlantic shoreline. Surprised he is so close to the location, he turns onto the remote rural valley road. The address provided in the text message turned out to be a private Christian school. As he pulled in, girls in long, modest skirts slipped away to the adjoining buildings.
Marshall's encounter with the presiding preacher appeared to be a waste of time. The arrogant preacher expected to get his own way...all the time, and he attempted to bully Marshall. He obviously did not want to pay for the investigative services and thought the world owed him everything.
Disgusted, Marshall turned to leave when the preacher's wife appeared beside him and quickly handed him a note and a wad of money hidden inside a Bible.
And, that's all he got. The wife goes silent, and Marshall is bewildered as he is left to piece together a missing person's case with no clear instructions.
