Perfect Vision is a collection of poetry and prose by a 17-year old first-time author.If I seem a bit effusive indulge me. I'm allowed. You see I've heard the author sing. And that is a thing of great joy. Both hers and mine. From the start, it's not just the confidence of her skill that is apparent but also her enjoyment of the performance. There is a rare enthusiasm in her singing. It is genuine. It is undeniable. It's a grand ride whose only requirement is that you enjoy it with her. There is a lot to be said for living life through all of your senses. Drinking in every moment. Life often beats us into moulds not of our choosing and inhibits our ability to enjoy those simple things that once brought us happiness. Vision dimmed, hearing muted, we forget the joy of discovery and the power of enthusiasm. What I find wonderful in these poems and stories is seeing again through fresh eyes, and being invigorated by memories of my own discoveries, wonder, and introspection. Feeling this young author's enthusiasm and enjoyment makes reading this little book another grand ride that only requires you to enjoy reading it as much as the author did creating it. Thomas Shealy
