When her son is eventually diagnosed on the autism spectrum, Kelli isn't just forced to rethink her parenting. She's forced to rethink herself.
Spanning more than two decades, this is not a parenting manual and not a tidy redemption story. It's an honest account of what's left when the systems stop working, and you have to figure out who you are without them. Occasionally funny in the way that crying in a GMC Yukon is funny in retrospect.
For women who have held everything together so long they've forgotten they didn't have to.
