This book shares authentic thoughts from Queen Washington through a poetic and spiritual lens. She believes there is purpose within perseverance and you have to be patient. Her desire to write came from the grief and emotion she experienced from not only losing her mother at such a young age, but also not acknowledging her thoughts and feelings from her experience. While in college she wrestled with grief, womanhood and finding her purpose. These struggles pushed her to express herself in a way that was fitting for her. Each poem is followed by a scripture that Queen saw as fitting for the feelings she experienced while writing and reading her poems. At the back of the book, she invites you to journal. Journaling is something that helped her tremendously with expressing how she feels.
Words from the author
There are no manuals, handbooks or step by step instructions for life.We only have what we experience to help us get through life. Life is not something that can be perfected, there will be bumps in the road and a lot of detours. Despite my circumstances, I decided to dedicate myself to learning how to conquer this thing called life. I learned very quickly that life is not something that can be learned or conquered. I grew to understand that is why God gave us his word, he gave us the foundation and the principles that can help us get through life. Regardless of what you are going through, you can always turn to God's word and find the key principle for your situation. Patience, Purpose and Perseverance have been the main principles that have helped me through life's battles. I thank God for his word, his love and his wisdom. By sharing my story, I hope to uplift and encourage those who take the time to read Patience, Purpose & Perseverance.
