ENIGMATIC, VIVID!! Parenthetical is poetry. These are literary symbolism and rhetoric and drama. They are dramatic poetry; characters conduct themselves toward each other--and toward themselves--with complicated intent. Parenthetical is list poems with subtle, contemporary application and is traditionally-metered poems with problematic subject matter. It is experimental in that you are invited to include or exclude one of the parenthetical words or phrases to alter the meaning of the line. Poems are presented as close as possible to the original process: with sentence fragments, a few intentional misspellings, elision. These devices will convey more meaning to each poem. Finally, Parenthetical is imagery in juxtaposition with imagery. If I could read my poetry to you, I would. Will you stand and perform my poetry? Stomp, whisper or holler where possible.
