The Psalms of Solomon is a religious text that contains a collection of 18 psalms attributed to King Solomon. This edition, published in 1899 by Henry Barclay Swete, also includes the Greek fragments of the Book of Enoch, another ancient religious text. The Psalms of Solomon were likely written between 70 BCE and 40 CE, and they express the Jewish community's hope for a Messiah who would deliver them from Roman oppression. The psalms cover a range of topics, including praise and thanksgiving to God, lamentation over the destruction of Jerusalem, and pleas for divine intervention in times of trouble. The inclusion of the Greek fragments of the Book of Enoch provides additional insight into the beliefs and practices of ancient Jewish communities. This edition is an important resource for scholars of religious studies and ancient history. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
