The Psalms of David in Metre is a book of religious poetry written by John Brown. The book contains a collection of psalms that have been translated into English and set to music. The psalms are written in a metrical form, which means that they are designed to be sung or chanted. The book is divided into five sections, each containing a different group of psalms. The first section includes psalms of praise and thanksgiving, while the second section contains psalms of lament and petition. The third section includes psalms of wisdom, while the fourth section contains psalms of prophecy. The final section includes psalms that focus on the coming of the Messiah. The Psalms of David in Metre is a popular book among Christians and is often used in worship services and personal devotions.1822. This work was translated and diligently compared with the original text and former translations; more plain, smooth and agreeable to the text than any before: allowed by the authority of the General Assembly of the Kirk of Scotland, and appointed to be sung in congregations and families, with notes exhibiting the connection, explaining the sense, and for directing and animating the devotion, to which are added translations and paraphrases in verse of several passages of sacred scripture with notes, explanatory and devotional. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
