The Protestant: Or Negative Faith Refuted; And The Catholic: Or Affirmative Faith Demonstrated From Scripture is a book written by William P. MacDonald in 1843. The book is a theological work that seeks to refute the negative faith of Protestantism and demonstrate the affirmative faith of Catholicism through the use of scripture. MacDonald argues that the Protestant faith is based on a rejection of Catholic teachings rather than a positive affirmation of its own beliefs, and that this negative approach is flawed. He then provides a detailed analysis of various biblical passages to demonstrate the superiority of Catholic teachings. The book is aimed at a Christian audience and seeks to persuade readers to convert to Catholicism. It is an important historical work that sheds light on the religious debates of the mid-19th century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
