Sally through no fault of her own other than being trusting of a friend finds herself caught in what threatens to develop into a ruinous scandal for herself and her family.
It becomes obvious very quickly that the brother of her best friend has also been implicated by rumour as being the person responsible for Sally's downfall. Paul, however had become involved when he responded to a text from his younger brother advising him of the danger to Sally. Paul an upstanding gent, was distressed by the situation Sally had found herself in. At Paul's instigation, their friendship developed over the weeks following the incident. While helping Sally to overcome the trauma of the incident of attempted rape, he discovered in him a need to protect her in whatever manner he could.
With their names having been linked through the false rumours that had so quickly began to circulate, marriage was he was certain the best way to protect Sally.
