This historical document, Promemoria Der Freien Reichsstadt Cölln Betr. Post- Und Botenwesen An Reichsversammlung Zu Regensburg, offers a fascinating glimpse into the postal and messenger systems of the Free Imperial City of Cölln. Prepared for presentation to the Imperial Diet in Regensburg, the document likely details regulations, disputes, or requests related to postal services within the city and its interactions with the broader imperial postal network.
As a primary source, this Promemoria provides valuable insights for historians and researchers interested in German history, postal history, and the administrative practices of free imperial cities during the early modern period. Its legal and governmental context makes it a significant resource for understanding the complexities of the Holy Roman Empire and the role of cities within its structure.
