The second day's session was opened promptly at 10*15 o'clock in the morning. The President announced that the Executive Committee had met and amended the constitution, and were ready to make its report. In response to his request the Secretary read the amended constitution, which is as follows: ARTICLE I.-name And Object. Sec . 1. The objects of this society, which shall be known as The American Society of Municipal Improvements, shall be to disseminate information and experience upon, and to promote the best methods to be employed in, the management of municipal departments and in the construction of municipal works, by means of annual conventions, the reading and discussion of papers upon municipal improvements, and by social and friendly intercourse at such conventions, and to circulate among its members, by means of an annual publication, the information thus obtained.
