This volume contains the proceedings of the Labourers' Friend Society's first public meeting, held at Exeter Hall on February 18th, 1832. The Labourers' Friend Society was a 19th-century British organization dedicated to improving the living conditions of the working class. These proceedings offer a window into the social concerns and philanthropic efforts of the era. The text provides insights into the prevailing attitudes towards poverty, labor, and social reform during a period of significant industrial and social change in Britain. It is a valuable resource for historians and researchers interested in the history of social welfare, labor movements, and Victorian society.
