Preterism (from the Latin praeter, meaning past) is a word that is unfamiliar to most Christians today. It describes a view of eschatology (prophecy) that stands in contrast to the Premilennialism that is widely taught today. Diligent Bible students will want to consider its claims carefully, as laid out in Dr. Adams' book The Time Is at Hand (as well as his commentary on Daniel, The Time of the End). As is true of all sound Biblical theology, there are those who, while embracing some aspects of the doctrine, veer off into unhelpful speculation and distortions.
