Excerpt: ... ARTICLE XLVIII. State of Learning. PARIS. MR. Montalant has just publish'd the IVth, Vth and Vlth Tomes of the great Collection of F. Martene and Durand, entitled, Veterum Scriptorum $3 Monumentorum, bistoricortim, dogmaticorum, moralium, amplijsima Collectio, &c. In Folio. 1729. The fourth Tome contains several Authors, who have wrote on all that relates to the History of Germany. The fifth contains several Authors, who have printed the Histories of Trance, England, Italy, Constantinople, and the Holy Land. They have collected together in the sixth Tome, those Authors that have wrote upon the different religious Orders j some Martyrologies, and Acts of the Saints. AMSTERDAM. PEter Humbert has publish'd the 17th Tome of the Bibliotheque Germanique, and he will soon publish the 18th Tome. He has also lately translated into French, and printed my Lord Bishop of London's Pastoral Letter on occasion of finte late writers for Infidelity; together with two other letters of the fame Bishop to the heads of Families in the Englijjh American Colonies for the instruction of the Negroes in the Plantations. HAN 0 VE R. ATreatise of Mr. Crullius is printed here, upon the right of coining Money; Job. Geor. Crullii tractatus de regali monetartm jure, &c, in quarto. The author especially examines what are the laws and constitutions of the empire with reference to the subject he treats. FRANKFORT. MR. J. fb. C. of Wittenberg, has publisiVd here, and at Leipfick, a treatise he has compos'd upon the use that may be made of the philosophy of Mr. Leibnitz, and IVolffius in theology.
