Orta explores the idea that afflictions and hardships are not always a result of sin but can be used to purify and strengthen one's faith for the Glory of God. The book delves into individual experiences and theological insights to understand the relationship between suffering and spiritual growth.
After his diagnosis with multiple sclerosis in 1996, the onset of the disease was in 1994. Luis struggled to understand why Christians seemed to suffer more than others. After his diagnosis, Luis stopped running around the streets, selling and using drugs. He returned to his Christian roots and studied psychology, psychotherapy, and theology to understand why the good and the bad suffer in this world. Luis has had quadriplegia since 2006, when he was 41 years old. He now has lupus and has been sick for over 30 years.
