This workbook is intended to supplement text books used to teach 6th to 9th grade students who take a Pre-Algebra class.
The workbook topics include fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios, expressions, perimeters, areas, equations with variables, and metric conversions, in twelve chapters.
Examples and problems are drawn from a range of sports including basketball, baseball, softball, football, soccer, hockey, tennis, track and field, cycling, and weightlifting.
Each chapter starts with an explanation and discussion of the topic followed by a sport based word problem and complete solution to the problem. The next two pages present additional sport based word problems for the student to solve. This is followed by a page which is intended to check the student's understanding of the topic. The final two pages present step by step solutions, not just answer keys, to the problems the student had to solve.
