Christian soul, I here present to thy admiration the most profound and Divine treasures of the holy Eucharist, all that It contains most glorious to God, the Sovereign Master of all things, and most profitable to man, become the child of God by regeneration in Jesus Christ, and the member of a body of which Jesus Christ has constituted Himself the Head. The depth of the Love of God is the union of His Divine Nature with human nature, an union wherein His Eternal Word is as it were annihilated; the depth of the love of Jesus christ is the union of His Divine Humanity with the members of His Church, an union so close that Jesus Christ lives in His members, and that all those who are united to Him by the bonds of His Blood are no longer men except in appearance, but in truth are Christians, and transformed into Jesus Christ. By the first union God and Man make but one in Jesus Christ; it may be said that by the second god-Man and the Christian are but one, all is common between GoD and the GodMan, all is common between Jesus Christ and the Christian man.
