What happens when ordinary believers discover the extraordinary power of prayer?
In The Power and Purpose of Prayer, Elder Sherrie Holmes invites you into a deeper, life-changing relationship with God through faith-filled, Scripture-centered prayer.
Born from years of intercession, testimony, and spiritual perseverance, this book is both a practical guide and a personal journey into the heart of communion with God. Whether you are new to prayer or a seasoned intercessor, these pages will equip you to pray with confidence, clarity, and authority.
Inside, you will discover:
- What prayer truly is - and why it matters daily
- How faith and prayer work together to move mountains
- How to overcome barriers like doubt, distraction, fear, and spiritual dryness
- The power of intercessory and corporate prayer
- Scriptural prayers for every season - healing, strength, guidance, thanksgiving, and more
- How to stand firmly on God's Word and pray His promises with boldness
Through biblical teaching, real-life testimonies, reflection questions, journaling prompts, and guided prayers, this book moves beyond theory into lived experience. It reminds readers that prayer is not ritual - it is relationship. It is not performance - it is partnership with the living God.
Elder Sherrie Holmes shares powerful insights from her journey as an intercessor and prayer leader, showing how consistent, Spirit-led prayer transforms families, churches, and communities.
If you have ever wondered:
- Does prayer really make a difference?
- How do I pray when God seems silent?
- Why do some prayers feel powerful while others feel empty?
- How can I grow stronger in faith and spiritual authority?
This book will answer those questions and ignite your confidence in prayer.
Prayer is not your last resort. It is your first response.
Prayer works - and it always will.
Let this book become more than something you read.
Let it become the renewal of your prayer life.
