Infelizmente, há um assunto que se tornou impossÃvel de abordar livremente nas congregações das Testemunhas de Jeová. Um tema tabu, e todos nós o sabemos.
Qualquer pessoa que fale sobre isso é imediatamente chamada à atenção pelos anciãos, sendo aconselhada a guardar silêncio. Expõe-se até à ameaça velada de ser acusada de fomentar divisões - uma acusação da qual todos conhecem a gravidade e as consequências de desassociação. Este assunto proibido não é outro senão a posição não bÃblica adotada pelo Corpo Governante durante a pandemia de Covid-19, a sua tomada de posição a favor da vacinação e o cortejo de dificuldades que daà resultou.
Por que razão deverÃamos passar em silêncio tal realidade? Por que fingir que nada aconteceu?
É certo que alguns argumentarão que o Corpo Governante se limitou a formular sugestões amorosas, sem nunca impor a vacinação. A honestidade intelectual obriga, no entanto, a reconhecer que não foi esse o caso. Esta carta reúne as transcrições das diferentes Atualizações do Corpo Governante, bem como os links para os vÃdeos do site JW.org; tantas provas irrefutáveis de uma renúncia à neutralidade bÃblica. Pior ainda, as Escrituras foram manifestamente deturpadas a fim de persuadir os publicadores de que Jeová Deus apoiava essas diretrizes.
Muitos irmãos e irmãs, que na altura pressentiam que algo não estava bem, ainda não mediram toda a gravidade destes acontecimentos. Hoje, precisam de colocar os factos em perspetiva, juntar as peças deste puzzle para compreenderem o quadro geral. É a eles, bem como a quem desejar confrontar este assunto à luz das Escrituras, que esta carta se dirige.
Jeová é o Deus da verdade e Jesus Cristo lembrou que convém adorá-lo com espÃrito e verdade (Salmo 31:5; João 4:24). Alimentar ilusões ou minimizar o alcance do que se passou coloca-nos numa posição espiritual perigosa perante Jeová e o Seu Filho. As Escrituras alertam-nos de que aqueles que não aceitam o amor à verdade e escolhem negá-la incorrem na desaprovação divina por terem sentido prazer na injustiça (2 Tessalonicenses 2:10-12).
É correto fechar os olhos face a um desvio bÃblico? Apoia a BÃblia realmente as teses transmitidas durante a pandemia nas Atualizações do Corpo Governante? Devemos obedecer cegamente, em detrimento do nosso próprio discernimento? Estas questões cruciais, e muitas outras, serão examinadas ao longo destas páginas.
Este escrito inspira-se na carta original que o autor destinava inicialmente à filial das Testemunhas de Jeová do seu paÃs. Hoje, é partilhada no interesse de todos. O autor nutre a esperança de que, se a futura pandemia tão profetizada vier a surgir, estas linhas preservem alguns de qualquer coerção prejudicial à sua integridade fÃsica e espiritual.
