As Copas do Mundo do Futebol mostradas numa linha de tempo, com as mudanças econômica, políticas, as transformações sociais e toda a evolução tecnológica da humanidade em quase um século de bola rolando. E teve mais a evolução do jogo em campo, no aspecto tático e coletivo, no condicionamento atlético, a moderna medicina e fisioterapia esportiva, os astros bilionários, as estruturas montadas, arenas confortáveis, um chip novo, o reino encantado da bola. O livro Historiando as Copas nasceu de crônicas, resenhas, coberturas jornalísticas publicadas no site Bahiaja, criado e coordenado pelo jornalista Tasso Franco (fundador também da editora Ojuobá), no qual o autor do livro tem uma coluna fixa de Esportes. Com a motivação da Copa do Catar, estimulado por Tasso, o autor foi fuçar escritos, pesquisou livros, revistas (Placar, Manchete...), recortes de jornais de época guardados, reviu vídeos e jogos de copas passadas, aprofundou-se, resenhou cada lance nas arábias e foi cuidar da arrumação dos capítulos, em ordem cronológica, de adequação de texto, atualizações, títulos, ajustes e tocar a edição final com Tasso Filho e Vitória Giovanini, responsáveis pelo design gráfico, editoração e capa.
Boa leitura, pois, é como uma viagem no tempo, como ver um clássico, futebol bem jogado, bola redonda.
