Sometimes we have to travel to places just to find out where we belong, even though the start of our voyage was our destination all along. HARRIS LANCASTER, an overworked and seemingly hard-hearted hedge fund manager, has just started such a voyage. While staying at the Reid's Hotel on the island of Madeira, he uncovers a dark secret that took away his ability to see with the heart. With the help of Pedro, a waiter, and a string of serendipitous encounters Harris finds the true meaning of life. What starts out as a journey of adultery and deceit turns into a day full of wonders, giving Harris the answer to the question of all questions. A Pool by the Sea captures the true essence of love, friendship, and failure in a series of magical interpersonal happenings that culminates in a heart-warming and unexpected conclusion.
