Chen Huiying, also known as Victoria Chen, was born on June 28, 1950, in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province, China. After early experiences working in industry and participating in the educated youth movement, she relocated to the United States in 1980. Her life has unfolded across different cultural, historical, and spiritual landscapes, shaping a deeply reflective artistic perspective.
Chen began formal studies in painting in 2014 and turned seriously to literary creation in 2024. Within a short period, she has pursued poetry and painting in parallel, producing more than 700 poems and completing multiple poetry-and-painting collections.
Poetry & Art From A Wise Heart 2 《慧心詩畫》is a wholly original body of work, with all poems and artworks created solely by the author. In this volume, poetry and painting function as complementary forms of expression, each illuminating the other. Many of the poems and visual works draw inspiration from biblical themes and spiritual reflection; however, the book is not a theological exposition. Instead, it presents a personal, contemplative engagement with faith, life experience, and inner transformation.
Marked by quiet intensity and spiritual depth, the works in Wisdom of the Heart transform lived experience, belief, and introspection into poetic language and symbolic imagery. Rather than emphasizing technical virtuosity, the book stands as a testament of the inner life-an artistic meditation on faith, destiny, and the enduring dialogue between the human heart and the spiritual realm.
陳慧英（Chen Huiying），又名 Victoria Chen，1950 年生於中國浙江溫州。青年時期歷經工廠勞動與「知青上山下鄉」的歲月，1980 年移居美國。其人生軌跡橫跨不同文化與時代背景，長期行走於現實生活與精神世界之間。
陳慧英於 2014 年開始系統性學習繪畫，並自 2024 年起正式投入寫作，在極短時間內完成大量詩歌創作，詩畫並行，逐步形成高度個人化的藝術語言。至 2025 年，她已創作詩作七百餘首，並完成多部詩畫合集。
《慧心詩畫》為陳慧英個人詩畫作品集，書中所有詩歌與繪畫皆由作者獨立完成。作品以詩為心、以畫為境，文字與圖像相互回應，呈現內在精神世界的可視化表達。書中大量篇章融入《聖經》意象與信仰體驗，惟並非教義闡釋，而是以個人生命經驗為出發點，將信仰、感悟、情感與人生省思轉化為詩性的語言與畫面的象徵。
這些詩畫作品既安靜內省，又蘊含力量，既指向超越性的精神追求，也深植於真實的人生歷程之中。《慧心詩畫》並非一部著重技巧的藝術作品集，而是一份以詩與畫書寫的生命見證，展現一位女性在歲月沉澱之後，持續與信仰、命運與自我心靈對話的精神歷程。
