A Plain History of the Reformation is an entry level book designed to give the broad contours of this great 16th century movement of God, whose impact remains with us to this day. It is written in a fast paced and very readable style. The book begins with an overview of the teachings of the medieval church that preceded the Reformation and highlights some early attempts at internal reform. The book culminates with the life of Martin Luther, through whose efforts the Reformation began, and those who carried the torch forward, especially in the person of John Calvin. The book concludes with how the Reformation captivated the English speaking world during the reigns of some most interesting monarchs. The book's goal is to stir up the interest for this almost forgotten movement of God and to promote further reading and study.
