Poems within can be seen as a teenager navigating through life, encountering the concepts of love, loss, depression, faith and many others. It is important to look at these vivid concepts, within the same lens, as all these different concepts are connected to one another and shape our lives as a whole. As you will move forward with the poems, you will witness the growth and development of this person, sometimes making the same mistakes over and over, but eventually moving forward, towards peace and success. With the lessons of self love, confidence and growth, he changes while remaining true to his core. There is also a subtle meta-commentary throughout the book about the role and impact of art not only on artists but on society as whole and how society itself derives the art of a particular time. The poems introduce readers to a number of different characters, in the hope that the reader will find themselves too within one of them. So, not only can the reader relate but also learn through the lessons of these characters and eventually, grow into a better version of oneself. Finally, I leave you with the hope that you find happiness and the power to hold on to it.
