The Philippic Orations of M. Tullius Cicero is a book written by the ancient Roman politician and philosopher Cicero, and was originally published in 1868. The book is a collection of speeches given by Cicero, in which he criticizes and denounces the actions of the Roman politician and general Mark Antony, who was a member of the Second Triumvirate that ruled Rome after the assassination of Julius Caesar. The speeches, which were delivered between 44 and 43 BC, are known as Philippics, after the speeches given by the ancient Greek orator Demosthenes against the expansion of Philip II of Macedon. Cicero's Philippics were intended to rally the Roman people against Antony, whom Cicero saw as a threat to the Republic.
