Some treasures you can hold in a wing. Others you can only make together.
On a golden woodland morning, a tiny bluebird named Talli discovers a pebble that shines like a little moon, and a single cheerful trade sets a forest-sized adventure in motion. As her pebble becomes a ribbon, a button, and a bright golden bell, Talli helps one friend after another, until her final trade reveals a mossy scrap of a map and the promise of a secret waiting deep in the ferns.
A KEEPSAKE PICTURE BOOK TO TREASURE
This heirloom-quality hardcover wraps Talli's first adventure in rich, hand-painted watercolor art, luminous morning light, paper-textured detail, and a cast of animal friends children will want to visit again and again. Every spread rewards the slow, repeated readings that little ones ask for, and the sturdy binding is made to survive being pulled off the shelf night after favorite night.
A HEARTFELT MESSAGE THAT LASTS
At its center is a gentle truth preschoolers can carry for years: that kindness given away has a way of coming back, and that the joy of sharing outshines the shine of any single treasure. It is a warm, reassuring story where every friend matters and every trade brings the woodland closer together.
WHY THIS HARDCOVER MAKES A LOVELY GIFT

A WOODLAND WORTH RETURNING TO
Talli's forest is a place children love to revisit, from the sparkling stream where the pebble begins its journey to the cozy hollow where Brindle mends his little lantern. Each friendly face, small treasure, and hidden detail invites another look, so the story grows richer with every reading and becomes a familiar, comforting world at the close of the day.
A LASTING ADDITION TO ANY LIBRARY
Built to be read and re-read, this keepsake belongs on the shelves of families, preschools, and libraries, wherever gentle stories help children grow kinder, braver, and more curious about the world around them. It is the kind of book a child returns to long after the last page is memorized.
