The Pearl of Great Price is a religious book written by Joseph Smith, the founder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The book consists of several parts, including the Book of Moses, the Book of Abraham, Joseph Smith-Matthew, Joseph Smith-History, and The Articles of Faith. Each part contains teachings and revelations given to Joseph Smith by God. The Book of Moses is a retelling of the biblical story of Adam and Eve and their descendants. The Book of Abraham contains translations of ancient Egyptian papyri that were believed to have been written by Abraham himself. Joseph Smith-Matthew is a translation of a portion of the Gospel of Matthew that was lost from the Bible. Joseph Smith-History is a record of Joseph Smith's life and the founding of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Articles of Faith are a series of thirteen statements that summarize the basic beliefs of the church. These include the belief in God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost, as well as the importance of faith, repentance, baptism, and the laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost. Overall, The Pearl of Great Price is an important book for members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, as it contains many of the foundational teachings and revelations of their faith. This is a new release of the original 1928 edition. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
