Patrick the Paratrooper takes the 'read-to-me' and early readers on an introduction to World War II. Patrick joins the world-renown Easy Company of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment (PIR), 101st Airborne, made famous by the book written by Stephen Ambrose and the HBO miniseries, Band of Brothers.
10-year old Patrick goes from enlistment into the Army to becoming a paratrooper. He parachutes into Normandy on D-Day, jumps into The Netherlands for Operation Market-Garden, fights in the bitter cold of Bastogne and reflects on the end of the war, and his buddies, at the Eagle's Nest.
With a surprise ending, Patrick the Paratrooper will spark the interest of learning about our WWII heroes. The vivid illustrations help carry the young reader along Patrick's adventure, allowing the next generations to begin to understand, our Greatest Generation.
