Most of these pieces are by anonymous composers. Few studies have appeared and very little of the music has been transcribed and published but in recent years studies of concordances are beginning to uncover music by composers such as Silvius Leopold Weiss who was arguably the greatest lutenist of the Baroque era and Johann Anton Logy.
