Coober Peedy watches a scary movie on TV, while relaxing in his grandma's sofa. During a sudden power break, he becomes aware of unexpected sounds. When the sounds come closer, he overhears a whispering conversation. When the whispering voices talk about getting rid of his grandma, he becomes wary of their threat.

Coober lights a candle, and discovers the voices belong to two little people. They tell him how they were hit by lightning strikes around 40 years earlier, which made them shrink to be only 20 centimetres tall. Since then, they have lived in his grandma's pantry. He has trouble working out if they are almost nice, or unbelievably nasty.

Despite his feelings, but for safety reasons, Coober decides to try and help them return to their normal sizes. He wants them to move away from his grandma's house.

He tries to find an antidote in an old library book and finds interesting advice on what may become the solution.

There are twists and turns, which culminate in a surprising ending. A fantasy adventure with a bit of chill and humour suitable for 9 -12+.
