Palimpsest: a very old text or document in which the writing has been removed or covered or replaced by new writing. Ancient civilizations reused writing surfaces like papyrus because paper was so valuable, erasing old writing to add new text, often leaving a residual of the previous work underneath. When Carol Lynn writes her most intimate thoughts in this journal, she changes her life, but it's not that simple. Will she go too far? Will she get revenge on her oppressor? Is the journal really her friend? Suspense and mystery empowers her words and transforms the writer in this ancient journal.
