Palace Wagon Family: A True Story Of The Donner Party is a non-fiction book by Margaret Sutton that tells the true story of the Donner Party, a group of pioneers who set out for California in the mid-1800s. The book focuses on the story of the Reed family and their journey to California in a luxurious covered wagon called the Palace Wagon. The book details the challenges and hardships that the Donner Party faced on their journey, including harsh weather conditions, difficult terrain, and conflicts with Native American tribes. The book also explores the controversial decision made by some members of the party to take a shortcut through the Sierra Nevada mountains, which ultimately led to their tragic fate. Through the lens of the Reed family's experiences, Palace Wagon Family provides a gripping and emotional account of one of the most harrowing stories of the American West. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
