Centuries ago, a remote mountain village made a terrible bargain to survive. When famine and plague swept through their valley, the townsfolk turned to the darkness beneath their soil-a being they named the Devourer. In exchange for prosperity, they offered what no god would take: their memories, their names, and the generations that followed. The pact kept them alive, but erased them from history.

Now, centuries later, whispers stir through the ruins once more. The cracked bell once forged to silence the Devourer rings in the night, and the earth breathes with voices long forgotten. Four strangers-Jared, Emma, Lilia and Marcus-are drawn into the remnants of the pact, uncovering fragments of the lives it consumed and the bloodline that began it all.

A dark, atmospheric tale of sacrifice, faith, and the weight of forgotten promises, Pact of the Forgotten blends gothic horror with mythic fantasy and psychological tension. For readers who love slow-burn dread, ancient curses, and haunted landscapes, this story explores how far humanity will go to be remembered-and what it costs when the past refuses to stay buried.
