Sometimes it's hard to tell good people from bad . . .
Bonnie, the new barn manager at Locket's Meadow, has a secret -
She's been bullying Falstaff, one of the horses, and when he fights back the two find themselves locked in the biggest battle Locket's Meadow has ever seen.
Kathleen, the owner, is so busy taking care of a sickly runt pig named Ozzie Osboar that she hardly has time to notice. When Ozzie gets hurt and has to go to the hospital, Bonnie makes a plan to get rid of Falstaff for good, but the rescued animals of Locket's Meadow plan a rescue of their own.
Will they save Falstaff from being shipped to the slaughterhouse? The final battle between the wicked Bonnie and the residents of the farm will have you on the edge of your seat and shouting out loud.
Locket's Meadow is an actual farm in Connecticut, and all the animals in the book are real, including the feisty family of crows. Author Kathleen M. Schurman has listened to them tell their stories for many years, and sometimes, the stories are so good she can't help but write them down. What happened after the arrival of Ozzie Osboar was so amazing it had to be shared!
