A heartfelt tell all memoir about a woman's journey toward self actualisation. She openly tells of the defining moments and experiences that have shaped who she has become. From early childhood, she examines the relationship with her migrant parents and the belief systems that molded her behaviour. Her cultural and dominating early childhood environment inhibited her natural free spirit and set the tone for her in adult life. She went on to marry and replicate the environment she'd had, the only one she knew. In her early married years she was blind to the destructive behaviour that was crippling her sense of self worth. Deep down she was unhappy and ultimately made a conscious choice to improve herself and her life. She tells of the trials and tests of her marriage, raising children and meeting her Meditation Teacher. After meeting her Teacher her journey toward healing and becoming the strong assertive woman that she is today had begun. As well as learning a meditation system, she opened herself up to years of counselling where she healed many traumas and challenged many unuseful beliefs. She navigated herself through some uneasy home truths and grew from the suffering. As the years passed so did her self belief. She could now stand up to a domineering husband. After much couple counselling and heartfelt soul searching, she ended her marriage of twenty years. It was a very difficult time and she was not supported by her family. She clung to a few close friends who stood by her. As time went by she has gone from strength to strength. She gives her insights in a positive reflective way but is honest and authentic about who she is and how she felt. She had the courage to break free and start living her life on her own terms.
She is now advocating respect and support for both woman and men in marriage. She is motivated through her strong sense of self and wants to share her journey and be a catalyst for others who aspire to be the best version of themselves, as she has.
