As you traverse through this labyrinth of unmarked pages, shifting from dreams to waking life to all that's in-between, are these stories you find separate entities, or are they all connected? Is there but one beating heart beneath it all?

Somehow a thread sows together the likes of a monstrous, reptilian creature called the Star Collector who huddles in her cave reliving lost memories of her old life as something far more human. Of a faceless man named Mr. Sunshine who is in charge of running the world and all of reality, whose greatest threat is a peculiar child. To the likes of William Mason, a grocery store clerk, who seems to have the ghost of Abraham Lincoln living in his head who won't stop bothering him about asking out his cute co-coworker.

Appearing throughout the dreaming, the waking, and the in-between, is a melancholy girl who somehow seems apart from those found in the rest of the stories, and her best friend, a talking and monocle-wearing giant octopus. Encircling it all is the eponymous serpent, whose endless journey of devouring itself bleeds through the stories. Take the journey as what you will, for it's all the same in the end-the serpent keeps destroying itself nonetheless.
