Our Better Angels is the ninth book in the Mitch Tanner series by Kathleen Willett. When Mitch was a child, she was admonished for believing in ghosts. Her logic was that if we believed in guardian angels and holy spirits, why not ghosts as well? She just assumed it was all a matter of semantics, not realizing that ghosts were not viewed in a favorable light. Angels were always nice while ghosts could stir up trouble. So, when Mitch's friend Trish starts experiencing a haunting, everyone reacts with trepidation rather than calm. If ghosts have unfinished business on earth, what is the purpose of this visitation? This is just one of the events that Mitch has to deal with in her latest adventure. The troubles and tribulations that are swirling around family and friends are about to truly test what Abraham Lincoln so poetically stated, The better nature of our angels. Is it really going to be true that if we treat each other with respect, they will also rise to their better nature? Or is the temptation too great to remain bitter and divided?
