Some roads are chosen. Others choose you.
One More Mile is the story of a life built through hard work, hard lessons, good people, and more than a few mistakes along the way.
Matthew Macfie grew up in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland before heading west in search of something more. Life carried him through oilfields and coal mines, onto concert stages and lonely highways, into machine shops, classrooms, campgrounds, and leadership roles he never imagined holding.
Along the way came friendship, fatherhood, love, loss, broken trust, second chances, and the people who left their mark long after the road carried him somewhere else.
This is not a story about a man who always got it right.
It is the story of a man who kept going.
Told with honesty, humour, and the perspective that only comes from looking back, One More Mile is a collection of the moments that shaped him. Some are funny. Some are painful. Some still haunt him. Together, they tell the story of an ordinary life that turned out to be anything but ordinary.
This is not every version of the truth.
It is his.
