One Human Family is a poetry book with poems about war, the Middle East, and current events here at home. The author, Ruth Shapin, is a retired attorney who, with her partner, Donald Buchanan, practiced social security law. Ruth received a Master's Degree in English from UCLA. She and her husband, Ted, have attended the Poetry for Pleasure class at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at California State University Fullerton for many years. In 1988 Ruth and Ted joined with Jews, Palestinians and other friends to found the Cousins Club of Orange County which works for peace and justice in the Middle East.
