One Foot In The Stirrup is a collection of cowboy and western poetry with an emphasis on the humor that forms such a large part of the western way of life. The unexpected is always present in the every day workings of any ranch and is almost always viewed with a chuckle and a mental note to tell that funny event at the next possible appropriate moment. Along with a few serious poems, which I hope will strike a chord with the reader, the majority of the poems should generate a smile or a chuckle as the truth of the poem raises its heads...there's hopefully a sense of I been down that road before... as the reader moves on to the next poetic adventure. From a hoss named Nasty to a boot hung in a stirrup, I hope you enjoy the dangerous but sometimes amusing world of the cowboy !
