Cartea lui Antonel Neculai nu este un atac împotriva inteligenței artificiale și nu este un semnal de panică. Este o întrebare pusă calm: ce se află în om și nu poate trece în mașină? Vechea înțelepciune creștină vedea omul alcătuit din trup, minte și duh. Lumea de azi a păstrat doar ce se poate măsura. Cartea reface întregul.
Drumul trece prin patru părți. Mai întâi, ce este omul - și de ce a fost văzut, veacuri la rând, ca o ființă care privește în sus. Apoi, cum am pierdut această privire: povestea, spusă pe înțeles, a lumii care l-a redus pe om la funcție și a visat, încă de demult, să-l construiască artificial. A treia parte se uită drept la mașina care vorbește: ce este ea cu adevărat, de ce seamănă atât de bine cu noi și de ce asemănarea aceasta este o oglindă - care reflectă totul și nu conține nimic. Iar ultima parte întreabă ce rămâne al nostru: rugăciunea, privegherea, tăcerea - lucrurile pe care nicio mașină nu le va face vreodată, pentru că ele nu sunt lucruri, ci feluri de a fi.
Deși hrănită din scrierile vechi ale Răsăritului creștin, cartea e scrisă fără note de subsol și fără limbaj de specialitate. E o carte și pentru cititorul credincios, care simte că e ceva important în joc, și pentru cel care nu merge la biserică, dar bănuiește că discuția despre inteligența artificială se poartă la nivelul greșit: toți întreabă ce va putea face mașina, și nimeni ce este omul.
Nu veți găsi aici prognoze, panică sau soluții în zece pași. Veți găsi o întrebare veche, pusă la lumina cea mai nouă dacă tot ce spune omul poate fi spus și de o mașină, ce anume din om nu poate fi spus de nimeni altcineva?
O carte despre partea din om care nu se poate copia - și despre veacul care e pe cale să o uite.
