The music rose clearer near the open windows. She saw the garden below; it was tidy, and the hedges were well manicured, as was the green lawn stretching to the fence. But most of all she saw the wide blue expanse of the open Atlantic before her, and the smell of salt water filled her nose. Sam sighed contently and closed her eyes; she listened closely to the music, and almost involuntarily moved away from the window in a slow dance. She kept her eyes closed as she spread her arms, and stood in the center of the room, twirling a slow circle, moving with the music. As she did her mind's eye saw the room around her, but newer, and then in the chair before the mirror she saw Rebecca drawing a comb through her long black hair. She wore a lightly colored yellow dress as well, and she stood and approached her with a smile. Sam felt lightness and happiness, and thought she felt her hand being taken and with her eyes closed she danced with the young spectral girl before her, until she spun away a final time and vanished with a ghostly laugh...
